The mechatronic unit is the electro-hydraulic control module that manages all shift operations, clutch engagement, and transmission logic. It contains the valve body, solenoids, sensors, and the transmission control module (TCU) in a single integrated assembly. Common symptoms of a failed mechatronic unit include harsh or delayed shifts, flashing PRNDS indicator, transmission fault codes, limp mode (stuck in one gear), and complete loss of gear engagement.
