VWR Engine, Transmission and Subframe Mounts are designed to decrease engine and transmission movement to facilitate proper transfer of power to the road. By tightening up engine and transmission movement, drivers will instantly feel the differences the second they pull away.

VWR spent a considerable time engineering these mounts for daily driven vehicles and as such has developed a product that's suitable for mild to heavily modified vehicles. Initially VWR engineered mounts for use in the UK Volkswagen Racing Cup and developed a solution great for race cars, but lacked refinement needed on the street. Vehicles developed for racing only applications differ heavily from those driven on the street and as such requirements between both are often not directly shared. Many companies make the mistake of labeling extremely harsh and noisy engine, transmission and subframe mounts as performance products for the street, but in doing so they heavily sacrifice the driving experience without increasing performance.

VWR's development underwent several updates and revisions before perfecting a balance between comfort and control. The subframe mount offers a significant reduction in movement experienced on and off throttle, between gear shifts and under acceleration. "Wheel Hop" is greatly minimized with this modification alone. This mount fully replaces the factory part and does so without attempting to bandaid the issue with small plastic or rubber inserts. The subframe mount alone is a perfect starting point for anyone looking to increase performance without adding much vibration or noise.

Factory engine and transmission mounts offer a heavy compromise between performance and comfort to satisfy an extremely wide range of customers. In doing so, soft compounds are used which introduce engine and transmission movement which can decrease stiffness and result in failure. Such failures can lead damaged engine and driveline components due to shifts under load.

The VWR Engine and Transmission Mounts offer a true upgrade for those running the VWR Subframe Mount alone, and all but eliminate "Wheel Hop" on even the heaviest of modified vehicles. The mounts do increase in cabin vibrations and noise, however VWR has refined the mounts to offer only enough stiffness as required without sacrificing comfort. Many customers indicate feeling a true connection to their vehicle once the factory softness is removed.

the VWR motor mounts for the 2.0t TSI/FSI are amazing.

Advantages: put more power to the ground and with th mounts being as stiff as they are I dont have to open the throttle as mch to get my car to start moving

Disadvantages: only down side I have with the mouts is between 1000-1800rpm the vibration is pretty annoying but expected for what kind of mounts they are

This is an absolute must if you are experiencing a serious amount of movement from the engine and transmission. When I had this mount as well as the other top engine mount replaced, my VW tech showed me something scary with the factory mount at 120,000 miles. There are 3 bolts, 2 of them were stripped, and 1 bolt was holding the transmission to the car and it was backing itself out. This can happen to cars with stock power levels too.

For the other engine mount on the passenger side, That one was also soft but needed to be replaced anyways because my timing chain cover was warped and the engine mount needs to come out for that. So if you have an oil leak and there's oil on the top side of your engine near the cover, there's your answer and another reason to get these.

Highly recommend these to anyone who is tuned or loves to launch their car off the line. I have yet to try launch control.

Car is a 2010 MK6 Golf GTI that's APR Stage 2+ (V2.4 software) with stage 1 DSG tune (V1.6). Car has all sorts of other boltons that do make a significant difference.

Advantages: The subframe bushings dont necessarily have to be replaced. You can if you want or just put an insert in to it. Get the APR lower dogbone with these mounts too. The best way to make sure you get the power down, SuperPro control arm bushings (front and rear position). The car will feel way better than when it was brand new. You hear the gears in the transmission, the turbo is louder inside the car, and you can hear the timing chain. The shifts are so much more crisp (if you have DSG tune) to where you feel the clutches actually changing.

There is vibration but that is to be expected. When driving, it does teach you to not lug the motor. You will know because everything shakes like mad. Around 2500 RPM when the mounts are new especially, the car is very quiet. 1300 miles later, they're even better

Long story short, you feel much more connected to the car and if you go on to VWR's website, they use these as well as the SuperPro bushings in their VW Cup cars. It's a win win. Highly recommend this to anyone.

Disadvantages: If you don't like vibrations in a car: Get used to it and they will be mostly gone after about 1200 miles or so. They do vibrate from idle if the AC is on to about 1800 RPM but like I said, it gets better around 1200 miles. Other than that, change your driving habits. It's better for your engine
