No brake job is easy without the proper tools to reset the caliper fully back in order to install new brake pads. As the brake pad wears down, the brake caliper sets to the new, smaller thickness of the pad. When it is time for a new pad, the caliper needs to be pushed back to allow enough room to install new, thick pads. This Wurktol 21 piece caliper reset toolkit comes with a wide range of sizes and style to cover make makes and model calipers. While many brake calipers can be reset with a “C” clamp or similar tool, some specialized German vehicles require the caliper to be twisted back into the fully retracted height. This kit comes with all sizes needed to reset both twist and non-twist calipers. All VW rear calipers require this kit whenever replacing the rear pads.
