Spulen Billet Aluminum DSG Catch Can For MK7 GTI/Golf R & Audi A3/S3
The Audi A3/S3 & Volkswagen GTI & Golf R DSG use the DQ250 transmission, which is an incredible system that helps your Engine put the power down when it needs it and in a fraction of a second. While it is truly a stunning advancement in modern engineering, it has one fall back. After multiple launches or extended driving, this transmission begins to run very hot, eventually overheating the transmission fluid, causing it to expand and overflow. The factory breather system is unquestionably ineffective, leaving transmission fluid to rise and shoot out into the engine bay. Not only is there now a mess, but a fluid service is also now needed.
Spulen has created this DSG catch can kit to address this issue. While quite engineered, it's very easy to use this system. Installation takes about 10 minutes and no servicing of filter replacement is needed. With an oversized heater hose, the excess fluid is given plenty of room to travel, reducing the chances of an overflow. If the fluid manages to expand enough to pass through the hose, a large Billet aluminum CNC'd catch can is in place to house the excess and drain back into the transmission once the fluid cools. A breathable, stainless-steel 20-micron mesh filter allows airflow out of the catch can, but no debris in. This filter was designed to last a lifetime and requires no servicing if used in normal conditions.
