A common symptom of this part failure is a high pitched squeal coming from the engine at idle.  This also my be accompanied by a rough idle condition.  The reason for these symptoms is the diaphram from the valve tears allowing the crankcase to be subject to full manifold vacuum.  

You can find this part mounted on top of the valve cover.  Includes gasket between PCV Valve and the Valve cover of the engine.
